Personal Security Sentinel is a fake antivirus and security program that is spread by trojans.
It infects PCs via various vulnerabilities and browser exploits, faked updates and various “freebie” downloads. This rogue belongs to FakeVimes family of parasites, which includes Internet Antivirus 2011, fake Internet Security Suite, and several other parasites.
The first signs of Personal Security Sentinel infection are various popups and alerts informing user about attacks and malware infections. Typically, it detects trustWarrior – an out-dated and no-longer active rogue, and several other parasites. These alerts are there to convince user that his PC is in a bad state and needs to be cleaned. As Personal Security Sentinel is fresh malware, common antivirus defense might come clean and unsuspecting users might believe that the rogue is better a protection and a legitimate program. But DO NOT believe in its messages: If you pay for Personal Security Sentinel the money is not only wasted for program having no real anti-virus module, you will find malware creator activities and your credit card might be charged multiple times.
Additionally, Personal Security Sentinel will create hosts file entries for its domains.

Kill malicious Processes from Task Manager:

Location of the infection:

Registry Entries to be removed. (Take a backup of registry, before editing it)
- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\PersonalSS.DocHostUIHandler
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Download “RunInvalidSignatures” = ’1?
Although it is possible to manually remove Personal Security Sentinel, such activity can permanently damage your system if any mistakes are made in the process, as advanced spyware parasites are able to automatically repair themselves if not completely removed. Thus, manual spyware removal is recommended for experienced users only, such as IT specialists or highly qualified system administrators.
