Wireshark Antivirus is a rogue anti-spyware program that reports false system security threats and displays fake security alerts about non-existent infections.
The rogue program is promoted through a variety of attack vectors that contain a link to the download page, Trojans that automatically download the rogue program on the computer or misleading websites that display fake online anti-malware scanners with false scan results. The main goal of Wireshark Antivirus is to convince users into purchasing the program. Don't buy this bogus program. If you have already purchased it then please contact your credit card company and dispute the charges. Then, please use the removal instructions below to remove Wireshark Antivirus from your computer either manually or with an automatic removal tool.
Once Wireshark Antivirus is installed, it will be configured to run automatically when your computer starts. The rogue program will scan your computer and state that you have malware infections and that these infections will be removed after you purchase the software. These results are fake and these infections do not exist on your computer. Instead they are only being shown to scare you into purchasing the software. Registry Entries to be removed. (Take a backup of registry, before editing it)
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce "Wireshark Antivirus.exe"
