Windows Armour Master is a malicious program that has no other capabilities but to falsify virus detection and removal functions.
In the beginning, it starts announcing for its victims that there are tons of viruses detected on their machines. Additionally, this scam starts continuously offering to purchase licensed Windows Armour Master version though such legitimate program does not even exist! If you pay for this program offered, you can be sure that you will install a virus and will also lose your money, so ignore Windows Armour Master alerts and remove the same scareware immediately. While trying to rip users off, Windows Armour Master enters its targeted machines through security vulnerabilities found. It uses Trojans for this secret intrusion what helps this malware stay in the background and make useful changes for its additional activity. After modifying the registry, this scam will start appearing every time PC is rebooted and will display the same alerts just like the earlier released malwares hailing from the same family of scams.
Removal:
Kill malicious Processes from Task Manager:
- <random>.exe
Location of the infection:
- %UserProfile%\Application Data\Microsoft\[random].exe
Registry Entries to be removed. (Take a backup of registry, before editing it)
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Download “RunInvalidSignatures” = ’1?
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\PhishingFilter “Enabled” = ’0?
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Download “CheckExeSignatures” = ‘no’
Although it is possible to manually remove Windows Armour Master, such activity can permanently damage your system if any mistakes are made in the process, as advanced spyware parasites are able to automatically repair themselves if not completely removed. Thus, manual spyware removal is recommended for experienced users only, such as IT specialists or highly qualified system administrators. For other users, we recommend malware and spyware removal applications.
After removing all these files, restart your computer and the issue will be fixed. And don’t forget to do update your Security Software, check the Firewall Settings and the Operating System and finally do a full system scan with the Security Software.
