Protect Shield.

Protect Shield is classified as a rogue because it uses deceptive tactics to convince you that your computer is infected.
Protect Shield is installed via Trojans and fake online scanners. When Protect Shield is installed it will be configured to start automatically when you login to Windows. It will then perform a fake scan of your computer and display false scan results. And finally, it will prompt you to pay for a full version of the program to remove the infections from your computer. Protect Shield is a scam, you shouldn't purchase it. If your computer in infected then use the removal instructions below to remove this rogue program from your computer with an automatic removal tool or manually.

Protect Shield will then display numerous security alerts on your computer and may even block some of your other programs. It will also display a window that impersonates the legitimate Windows Security Center. The difference between this window and the legitimate one, is that the imposter will recommend that you purchase Protect Shield. It goes without saying that Protect Shield is nothing more but a scam. If you have already purchased it, then please contact your credit card company to dispute the charges. Then please use the guide below to remove Protect Shield and possibly other malware from your computer.

Removal:

Kill malicious Processes from Task Manager:
  • ProtectShield.exe
  • uninstall.exe
Location of the infection:
  1. C:\Program Files\ProtectShield\ProtectShield.exe
  2. C:\Program Files\ProtectShield\uninstall.exe
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "ProtectShield"
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ProtectShield
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ProtectShield
Although it is possible to manually remove Protect Shield, such activity can permanently damage your system if any mistakes are made in the process, as advanced spyware parasites are able to automatically repair themselves if not completely removed. Thus, manual spyware removal is recommended for experienced users only, such as IT specialists or highly qualified system administrators. For other users, we recommend  malware and spyware removal applications.

After removing all these files, restart your computer and the issue will be fixed. And don’t forget to do update your Security Software, check the Firewall Settings and the Operating System and finally do a full system scan with the Security Software.
