Antiprotect is a fake security tool that pretends it is able to detect and remove viruses and other computer malware.
The parasite spreads via trojan. Antiprotect downloads and installs itself automatically without user's knowledge and consent. Once active, malware starts its fraudulent scans and shows fabricated results that state your PC is infected. It also offers to pay small fees for registered version of Antiprotect application. Purchasing it means you will have a huge problem and more viruses onto your computer. We highly recommend ignoring fake threats. It is not worth spending your money. Choose reputable security program and terminate Antiprotect upon detection.
Once installed on your computer, Anti Protect will automatically configure itself to run on Windows start up.
As soon as you Logon to your computer the virus will automatically load in the background. Anti Protect will generate many files with random names on your computer and then it will scan your computer. It will show you those files as infections, while in fact, those files are totally harmless and created by Anti Protect itself. The main purpose behind this is to threat you so that you purchase full version of the program.You should simply ignore the results Anti Protect shows because they are all false. This software will keep telling you that there are malicious files on your computer which you should remove as soon as possible. Anti Protect will show pop-ups every now and then and won't let you run many software. As soon as you will run the software Anti Protect will tell you that the software is infected and it will close the software automatically.
Removal:
Kill malicious Processes from Task Manager:
- Antiprotect.exe
- AntiprotectMon.exe
Location of the infection:
- C:\Program Files\Antiprotect\Antiprotect.exe
- C:\Program Files\Antiprotect\AntiprotectMon.exe
Registry Entries to be removed. (Take a backup of registry, before editing it)
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AntiProtect
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\AntiProtect.exe
Although it is possible to manually remove Antiprotect, such activity can permanently damage your system if any mistakes are made in the process, as advanced spyware parasites are able to automatically repair themselves if not completely removed. Thus, manual spyware removal is recommended for experienced users only, such as IT specialists or highly qualified system administrators. For other users, we recommend malware and spyware removal applications.
After removing all these files, restart your computer and the issue will be fixed. And don’t forget to do update your Security Software, check the Firewall Settings and the Operating System and finally do a full system scan with the Security Software.
